Swipe left

Also FYI if you're unaware swiping left option is also when in some of the navigation features ie , delete , routing , etc .
Aswel , menu top left hand corner under setting > map screen you can also add up to three or remove the trip meter completely
as well as change/edit the way that the main screen appears on your device .
Hope this helps :-)
Cheers Nick

Thanks, Nick, for that tip. I've often wondered how to do this (despite having read the manual). Like most technologies, if you don't use it regularly, you never realise how useful it can be.

Another "trip meter" tip.. you can actually have 3 trip meters displayed.

Settings -> Map Screen -> Odometers -> 3

Its only 1 by default.

I have 3 running:

1. Total Trip Distance
2. Daily Total - reset each morning
3. Fuel Tank Total - reset each fuel fill.

Also turn on Range Rings when you're in settings.. one of ExplorOz Traveller's finest features.

Hi Duncan, would you oblige me by describing the "fine feature" of Range Rings.
I genuinely would like to learn this.
Cheers

Allan,

5 circles on the map around your current location.. each at an interval you specify - I have them set 1klm.. at a glance you can assess distance to your next turn or your destination. It really gives me a great awareness of my location in relation to features around me and my intended travel route.

At times I have them set to 10klms instead when on a long drive to a far distant destination - mostly they are set to 1klm when navigating around obscure dirt roads and tracks.

Regardless of the zoom level of the map - you can pick a distance to stuff easily. I genuinely think they should be on by default when the app is installed, one of my favorite features of the app. I have asked for a second set of range rings to be implemented at a different distance interval and in a second colour - I remain hopeful we might see this in some future version.

Thanks Duncan, I thought it may be that.
In 2010 I assembled a Silicon Chip project named "Multi-function GPS Car Computer" which included an odometer which could be set to count down from a preset rather than up. I found this very useful to recognise the upcoming turnoff selected from a paper map. With the advent of digital GPS enabled maps it was less necessary as I could see the icon approaching the turnoff on the display so the gadget was dispensed with when it eventually failed.

I can see how the Range Rings can be similarly useful.
Cheers

How do you set the range rings to more than 5km? As this is the largest I can see in the settings.

Yes.. you're right.. its max of 5klm.. I thought this used to be much larger.. odd.

Correct
We had always seen their use as more practical for near stuff. Send Help Desk tickets for specific requests for consideration.
