Sorry to see you are both injured.
We went through a similar experience in 2023. I was 10 kms into a 40 km road bike circuit. I blacked out doing about 28km/hr. Grade 2 dislocation and the cause was a 90% blocked artery. A friend took my bike home and my wife tripped on a small step in neighbours garage. She had a fractured ulna so both of us were in slings on the left. Both repaired and I restarted cycling 6 weeks post stent . Keep on keeping on. Best wishes Duncan?

Thanks so much for sharing your story, Duncan. That really is a bizarre double injury incident. Isn't it bizarre how these things can happen - we thought it was only us with terrible bad luck. Your determination to get back on the bike is inspiring though. We’re hopeful to do the same but I'm already getting close to 6 weeks but not going to be able to get on the bike so soon - as I still have too much immobility and pain. I am considering trying to drive soon.
