Private Trek Sharing with non-members

I've created a reasonably large trek that I thought I could share with non members but it seems not, I can't find a way to do it. I have exported to a .gpx file into MyMaps but it is less than ideal.
There are some threads in archive that discuss this, even mentioning it as an item to put into v4.0 but this does not seem to have happened, or has it (I can't find it).

In a recent newsletter we said Trek sharing was a feature we are working on for release in v9.5 and the exciting news is that its that we’re not far away from being able to release it!!
