Bye all it is now my turn for a few weeks of travel.

Remember to keep any eye on our progress on the Satellite Tracking page for the event. We are using SatTrak-24 technology linked to our dynamic mapping engine to show the position of our vehicle. The positions are reported 4 times per day at 10AM, 12AM, 2PM & 4PM. Michelle will send out a newsletter about this also. She is still in the office and leaving the boys to the trip.

Take it easy everyone we will keep in touch.

Hi everyone,
Have just had a call from David - they're on the bitumen fast-tracking it to Newman which is the official start of the event on Friday morning. If you go to the Satellite Tracking page (click the 4WD Event logo in the left margin) you will see that their GPS position shows where they were 30mins ago (as David said above, the positioning is sent via the SatTrak24 receiver every couple of hours at 10am, 12noon, 2pm and 4pm). He was exactly where the system said he was. Pretty cool eh?! Great way for a wife to check on where her hubbie is - tee hee hee!! LOL

Pesty - it's WA time, however I noticed that the 2pm poll didn't come in until about 2.22pm and I don't think the 4pm happened? I've been out for a couple of hours and just came in to check. Because the car isn't likely to move much after 4pm - 10am they don't bother with a poll during those hours. So we'll just have to watch for tomorrow. I had a call a while ago and they were heading north of Mt Magnet at around 4.30pm WST. I think they are aiming to camp at Lake Nallan, 30km north of Cue which in our opinion is one of the best camps on the Great Northern Highway. The next day they'll be in Newman, so its about half way.

Have a good and safe trip. Take some photos so we can see where you have been and well see you when you get back.
