Anyone travelled this road recently? Difficult to get accurate conditions from the government or council sites. Numerous people have taken caravans across at various times, but can find no recent information.

Cheers,
Mark

Hi Mark : Limmen National Park Ranger may be able to give you a current update on the road conditions . You could also look for blogs regarding the Lost City... (not to be confused with the other one of the same name in the Lichfield National Park) ...probably one of the main tourists spots along the track aswel lorella Springs.
Two of us towed camper trailers through their a few years back now . it's not what I would call a walk in the park with some rough sections of Rocky outcrops and Creek Crossing ,there's nothing too challenging but constant care needed . The cape Crawford end of the road is fairly easy when we did it ,pretty country . it's more in the limmen National Park that is the worst part . We came across a caravan that had the axle and spring hangers ripped clean from the chassis and was waiting for parts derive to repair it .
Hopefully you will get some more up to date information . happy travels

Thanks Nick. Tried the ranger's number yesterday, but no luck. I'll look for blogs. Lorella Springs is no longer open for public access (tours only, apparently), so at this point I didn't want to bother them with a general enquiry. I've got another week before deciding on the route, so I'll keep looking.

Cheers,
Mark

"Tried the ranger's number yesterday, but no luck."

Did you try phoning him or sending a text? I think a text message is more likely to reach him, particularly whilst he is travelling.

When we went through there (other direction) the creek crossings were short and sharp ("V"), like some in the Bungles. A long van would need some care indeed. Otherwise just a typical remote road.

Mark , just as a point of interest what sort of van are you towing and what vehicle .
have you tried the Roper bar General Store or Cape Crawford , you can find their details in a Google search and I have found a number 1800 246 199 ? Not sure who that was for ?
As well there is a NT Road app and a Facebook page of the same ,
maybe of some help
I did see some Google reviews nothing mentioned about road conditions so that may be a good thing but the Lost City campground was closed... probably haunted lol :))

Stupidly, didn't think of calling the store. I'll leave it until later in the week to get most current info. Thanks for that Nick.
