as the better half loves having the heavy & hot laptop on her lap i have been looking for solutions.
present set up is garmin II, save tracks every day, use heavy laptop etc.
while sourcing a replacement
home monitor, came across a 2nd hand fugitsu 'p' lifestyle laptop. all of 900 gms, tft screen, 20 gig drive, xp, whole box is about 10" x 5" for $1850. (new ones are $2499).
anyone used one of these?
tft screen is about 3 times bigger than pda and with 20 gig drive.

Hi,
I am currently using Oziexplorer on a PDA, with a laptop packed away in the back for use when the larger screen is neccesary.
Just to share a couple of ideas I have been considering.
Noticed some 7 and 10inch high resolution TFT screens going on Ebay recently for as little as $200;00AU, would fit on the dash very neatly - some are touch screen so it would simply be a case of mounting the screen on the dash or any position convenient to the user.
Then under the passenger
seat of my 93 pajero there is a plastic draw, the perfect location for a laptop or maybe build up a small PC and use use a bracket to mount hard disc, CD/DVD etc....
If any has a broken Xbox laying around I think the carcase may be ideal to mount it all in there.
