The Channel Country is slowly opening up! Most access into Innaminka is now open except the Strez from Merty and
Walkers Crossing. Today the Bulloo Shire announced The Innaminka and Arabury roads are finally open.

If heading a bit north in the Queensland channel country, note
the plague locust outbreak . Makes an awful and potentially expensive mess of the vehicle. Nothing like the fat from a few dozen
well fed locusts spread over the windscreen as
well even if you do keep them out of the radiator.

When I travel I like to carry a piece of shade cloth just for that event. Heard of country people who regularly had to travel through plague locusts, spraying their vehicle with cooking oil. Apparently it makes it easier to get them off, or putting car under sprinkler for 30 min or so to soften them up.
