G'day,
I have read previous posts and answers re offline navigation, but I am still having an issue.
I am creating
treks and syncing to my Iphone, which has the LoRes maps installed. According to previous posts and the provided manual, this should enable offline navigation however as soon as I encounter poor internet connection (not fully offline), the app just shows no background and a 'red dot' which I suppose is indicating my location, however without a background it is useless. I should also note that when ExplorOz stops working, Google Maps still works. The app also randomly stops/restarts, resetting navigation (when it does work...).
I am generally finding this app very disappointing - you should not have to spend days reading and watching tutorials to use simple features. If I had not paid for the app I would ditch it.....however will continue trying to work it out and possibly spend another $50 if I need to on the Topo maps to enable offline navigation (according to what I have read, I shouldn't need to however?).
Appreciate any assistance you could give. Thank you.

If you want the app to work offline with good Maps you need to download the high res and and the other map packs for the work app to work properly and you need to take on all recommendations as
well otherwise you are going to struggle

Thanks mate will try that - the guidance does say that you shouldn't need to as long as you don't want great resolution, but for another $50 it's worth a crack.

Brad , yeah the low-res maps are pretty useless for navigating I find if you don't have mobile phone service. I only have the low res download on my phone ,But have the EO topo2025
Checked so I have the good Maps while I'm in mobile service. but I have the FULL kit, high res, terrain , contour, content etc aswel downloaded on my tablet .
I find it very useful to watch tutorials & podcast associated with what you wanting to do find .
We are more than happy to help where we can here & even better on the Traveller Facebook page , where Michelle will post helpful tips. Or you can use the help desk that is very responsive to any queries

The Traveller app only covers online usage due to the fact that this does not include high resolution offline maps. It is expected that most users eventually require the offline map licence (EOTopo) making the total cost $108.98 with no more to pay for up to 4 years. You can then pay an additional annual $50 for an annual
membership that provides additional features - the best being the ability to use the Traveller app on your PC.
I only got the annual
membership after 4 years of owning the app and find it's worth it as it makes trek planning much easier and quicker. I used to be an avid HEMA guy (still love their paper maps) but the ExploreOZ app is much better and if you need help, the developers of the app provide amazing customer service - usually reply within 24-48 hours.

Thanks for your reply. I will get the additional maps now. I do already have the annual subscription for exactly the reason you suggested - easier to create
treks.
Hopefully the additional map packs help as currently the app is not as useful as Google Maps.
Cheers.

Google is great , and they pay billions to be good. Traveller and EOTopo are the best for remote travel in Oz.
Having options is always a good idea.
Cheers
