Is St Mary Inlet campground suitable for an off road hybrid caravan?. I have seen conflicting info on various sites. Wikicamps suggest it is ok, photos on national parks website looks like it would not be practicable.

Info on Google Maps is 5 & 6 years only but says no Caravans or trailers. Was/is a
sign at entry. May have changed in that time though.

Daughter in law was there 2 years ago and said it was actual
camping only...no vans or trailers. They want the place to be kept as close to nature as feasible.

We stayed there last year. We were in our ute with RTT, but there were definitely a few caravans down there. I don't recall any
signage suggesting they were not welcome...
Not hard getting in, bit of a doddle, really. (a bit like crucifixion...)
Cheers, Mark

This
campsite is located a fair distance from
Bremer Bay town, accessible via a dirt road suitable for 2WD vehicles, so be sure to bring all your supplies. We visited in winter, and without the option to light a campfire, we found ourselves heading to bed early due to the cold! If you can handle the chill, winter is a great time to come and see the whales and their calves. You can stand with your feet in the
water, just 300 meters away, watching them blow
water into the air and swim around—it's truly an incredible experience.
The campground is almost directly on
the beach, yet it’s sheltered from the wind, offering just the right amount of scrub and tree cover for protection. A short walk from your
campsite leads you to a beach with sand so soft it feels like powder.

Its been a few years since I have been to
Bremer Bay but we went and visited St Mary Inlet just to check out the sites. From memory there was only 1 site that we thought we could get our
Kimberley Kamper in on at the time. We decided to not risk driving all the way out only to find we then couldn't get a spot .

Thanks All for the info. Given that we have 2 vehicles and 2 vans, and it will be school holidays when we are there, we will stay at Quaalup station instead.
