Everyone would get wet feet.
We saw it like this in 2012. Worth the trip, if you can get there.

Big Red 2012.

Big Red 2012.

Big Red 2012.
Northern SA roads are still all shut.
Outback SA roads.
Cheers,
Peter

They could make it the Big Red Tinnie Dash…….are you aware that
Lake Nappanerica when full of
water is over 40 km long and nearly 4 km wide and very deep.
We have seen
water at the very eastern side of Big Red and within led than 10 metres the
water was over 3m deep…..yes we have paddled across tha as
well as out at Eyre
Creek

Yes Stephen, it is very impressive to encounter
Lake Nappanerica in flood for the first time having become accustomed to it being dry and most unlakelike previously. Big surprise as you crest the dune.

He made it clear two years ago that he didn't want to run it anymore. Easier to run Mundi. Get more people and cheaper to run.

It will be felt by the small towns and pubs that will miss out on the income it brings in.
I heard the sum of $20 million mentioned that will be lost.

It's probably a good call it not going ahead this year, still a lot of flooding and fuel insecurity. The small towns are probably still doing ok, there are more vehicles travelling the outback than ever before and the Big Red Bash has only been going for 10 or 12 years, they survived before that.

Mick's Travels. Just spoke to a friend in Tibbuburra and she is cutting her shops hour because of the lack of traffic. She didn't even do that during COVID

I find it interesting that this (and other) commercial, profit making enterprises can be legally conducted using mostly volunteer labour.
Just saying :)

I know a couple that volunteered both there and at Mundi Mundi.
Yes they did get free admission…..but you had to do your rostered times, from memory around 4 hours each day and if you did not, they then charged you, and where I sit, they were getting very cheap free Labor.

Some things in the world run on volunteers who like to give their time and help while others are profiting from their charity. Not my thing.
