Hi All
I had a grease nipple on my 70 series that didn't want to take grease. So I thought I'd replace it as I've done with others.
Well, it came out, but doesn't want to go back in.
I'm unable to get a socket to get a straight line at the thread, articulated socket doesn't help either.
OME nipple.
I've probable compromised the first thread in the housing, but not to the point it won't go in if I can get straight onto it.
I jacked up the rear of the vehicle to see if that changed the angle of the dangle, nope.
Any options other than dropping the tail shaft, which I can't do at the moment? (wounded)

Thanks for your thoughts.

Is it full of grease so you can't push the thread in?

Lyndon.
Are the replacements metric thread or imperial. Unless they are the SAME thread AS OE, you won't get any of them to start into the thread. THEY MAY APPEAR TO BE SAME SAME, BUT ARE THEY REALLY??? Can you insert a used one by itself into the grease gun nozzle and get it to pump GREASE through JUST THE NIPPLE BY ITSELF??
If there is any slight hit marks or dings on the rim of the nipple it will always NOT SEAL IN THE Nozzle and the grease will simply ooze out and not pass into the uni or yoke.
