All people within driving distance of Apollo Bay,
Sunday 15th August there is a protest meeting at Apollo Bay Foreshore regarding the State govt plans to turn the Otways [and the rest of Vic] into a national park.

All newspapaers, channel 7, and other news mediums will be in attandance, and the organisers are hoping for a Wombat type turnout, so we can keep our recreation alive in Victoria.

We are organising with as many local clubs as possible, [TLCC of A, Geelong club, Bellarine club, Otway club, Warnambol Club, Bachus Marsh club] And hopefully YOUR CLUB, for everyone who wants to stay at Gelibrand at Dando's Camp ground fri and/or Sat night and may want to have a look at the Otways before heading to Apollo Bay [1.2 hr drive away] for the meeting on the Sunday, which will allow us to stay away from the Great Ocean Road, and access Apollo Bay from The Colac Apollo Bay road.

Camping is free, Dando's campground is a pleasant treed and grassed camping area with 2wd access, toilets, water, fire pits, tables, and will be sign posted from The Main Rd at Gelibrand.

GELIBRAND IS LESS THAN 2 HRS FROM THE WESTGATE BRIDGE.

If you are attending, or would like more information, please email camping4wdrally@yahoo.com.au or if your club would like more info, please email a fax No or email address you would like a printable document to hand out at meetings to the email address lsited here camping4wdrally@yahoo.com.au

You can also look at http://www.fwdvictoria.org.au/ for more information on the rally.

If looking for a good meal in The Bay, you can't go past the Bay Leaf Cafe on the main drag, good food, good coffee, reasonable prices. And NO, I don;t work there or have any connection other than enjoying their seafood rissotto on a number of occasions.

There will be a woodchop demonstration on the day, loggers, horse riders, bike riders, 4X4's.

TV will probably have a field day but i suppose that's the world we live in these days.
