evening all was just wondering whether or not there used to be or still is a company called bushwacker who made camper trailers .

No idea but
check out " Halls Campers " build a very good quality bush camper trailer.
He delivered one to
Cairns this last week & has another 2 ordered from there also
His build quality is exceptional does it all himself,
He is into old " army ducks "
& more keen on strength & quality than profit
On a trip to Cape last year in a roadside overnight stop 5 campers in stop that night & 4 were built by him & none together
I believe that speaks for itself re Outback Capabilities/Quality.
No idea his website but go Google then " Halls Campers " & you will find it,
ring him & ask re
Cairns client & go & see the local one for yourself
I have known him for 30 years & his quality of work would be hard to surpass
