I finally got my truck back after 3wks off the road, the injector fault that Nissan reckoned was the problem ( cam worn off centre) was not the problem it turned out to be a faulty A.R. Sensor. The repairer couldn't understand how Nissan in their " thorough 21 page diagnostic check" missed it. The final cost $2,457.30 including a new battery which died during the 'saga'. If Nissan had done the job it would have cost nearly double .
Cheers
Mike

G'day Chris,
So, today's the big day, eh? Don't worry about sensors and all that rubbish; yours is the old faithful 4.2 with no computer etc....although I believe it does have some sort of electronic fuel sensor or some such rubbish. (might be worthwhile looking into how much a spare one of those would be and keep one in the glovebox).
I guess we won't be seeing you on the forum for a while now....too busy with the new mistress.
All the best mate.

yeah, all happens today.

I think it may have EGR electronic something to do with the fuel pump. Will heed your advice on the sparebee!

The mistress and I will be quite busy, taking it for a maiden run up to Maroochydore this weekend so I'll be hopefully providing all with a happy report on Monday...

Hi Truckster, I mentioned a few weeks ago that if 3'0L owners are silly enough, Nissan will sell you the whole air system, BUT Nissan for warranty just use the sensor itself. $1300 or $280. regards Michael
