Hmmmmm seems like the scammers are interested in Rosie. Herewith the message received from the scammer. His name is Paul Dayo.

Hello willem,
thanks for your mail,i'm ok with the price but i will like to see the pics to know the condition of the truck, concerning the shipment my shiping agent will responsible for the shipping of the truck.

Secondly i will contact my client in state to issue a certisfied cashier cheque to you as the mode of payment.

Lastly the amount on the cheque will $6,000,so when you receive the cheque you will deduct your $2,500 and send the remaining balance of $3,500 via western union money transfer to my shipper who will come for the pickup of the truck,if this is okay by you kindly send me your full name, address and phone number so that i can contact my client to issue you the cheque.

Hope to read from you soon.
thanks
Paul

Apart from that I have a genuine enquiry from the USA.

Back in town for a few days of running around and then out to the Flinders again. Tough life,eh?

Theres GOT to be some way of scamming these scammers, but I amnt so sure of a way. Sad to see Rosie go, but at least you have a Valiant!

Hmmm Bonz...now that you mention the Valiant. That will have to be next. We have to get back to one vehicle each. Took the Val out for a burn last week and just purrs along. Maybe if I bought the missus a Porche or a Mustang????? The trouble is we live in the country and this includes gravel roads with washouts etc. The Commodore does fine on these. Will see.

What about getting the cheque and then "shipping" him a MATCHBOX car G60 until you are sure the $$$$ are in the Bank (which ain't gunna happen of course). I'd love to know who would be actually picking up the truck ("agent" etc) and tracing the info (cops would have to do this) that the paperwork says the truck and the $3,500- has to go to. If the coppers can track these mongrels back to the boss cocky, we might have some joy at getting them out of circulation.....
Good luck Willie...

The thing is Roachie that they never collect the vehicle. In the end you are the $6000 out of pocket when your bank reclaims the money from you as the cheque has bounced on the other side. I replied to this fellas message saying that I hoped that the law would catch up with him soon.

Willem,
Assuming the U.S enquiry is genuine, it may pay you to check out Nissan4wheelers.com. there is a group on the forum for Patrols, and a couple of keen G60 owners, they may have some interest

There is a government site scamwatch.gov.au - you can report a scam, or check out the regular ones. Fancy scamming you for money as well as Rosie (assuming the $6,000 is worth zilch, which it would be).
