Typically in good condition (80kph, maintained by/for BHP) and it is currently "Open to all vehicles".

Last time along there was 2022, with a diversion via Mulgaria H.S, Lake Torrens and Andamooka.
Nice drive. You need permission from Mulgaria.

Might be a recent change due to the rain today?
Be unusual if it was closed for long.

EDIT: Now "Open to 4WD and heavy vehicles".
"Borefield Rd - Roxby Downs to Bopeechee
Exercise caution due to deep washouts on the edges of the road. Slow down at Gregory Creek 86km from Roxby turn off (15 from Bopeechee) large dip with ponded water."

Peter

G'day - Borefield Rd's generally fine in the dry. It's formed gravel from the Stuart Hwy turnoff (north of Roxby) across to the Oodnadatta Track, expect corrugations and the odd rough patch, and give way to the Olympic Dam oversize convoys when they come through. This time of year it's as good as it gets. Fuel up at Roxby Downs before you head out, carry water, and once you're on the Oodnadatta side the usual rules apply - lower pressures, steady pace. The old Bopeechee wreck on the corner is worth a look.
