We were planning of coming that way in early September, but it was closed and had been for some weeks due to very heavy rain previously. It opened a few days later.
Since then it would have had relatively less traffic than usual, so my guess it that it will be fine.
My advice is "go for it". You can always turn around if it does not suit you.
The wild flowers in that area should be the best in decades.
It would also be the perfect time for a flight from
William Creek.
Cheers,
Peter

The "fine print" says....
"Use caution at
creek crossings and floodways, some are rough and have uneven surfaces."
ps...we never consider enquiring about road or track condition information. If it is legally open to us, that is sufficient and we proceed. Anything else simply affects the speed that we might drive at and since we don't need to be in a rush, that is of little consequence.
Forecasts of significant future rainfall are a different matter, although we are usually prepared to take a risk.
Cheers,
Peter

The
Oodnadatta Track can get pretty busy.
Best advice is to avoid long weekends and school holidays, and know which way the wind is blowing :)
