It is very fluid out there..... :)
The Oodnadatta Track was open a week ago, then closed and was open until yesterday and is closed again north of William Creek now. You need to check on a daily basis.
SA Outback Roads.
This site is updated very regularly, even after hours and on public holidays. It was updated this morning at 7.10am.

One of the problems we encountered with the Oodnadatta Track is that the signs at Marla and Maree are not always updated. We asked at the Roadhouse at Marla if the track was open, they said yes, so we aired down, however as we approached the start of the track, the signs said it was closed. We went back to the roadhouse and enquired again, and they said that they do not control the sign. So as the sign is the “official” notice, we aired back up and continued down the Stuart Highway.

When we came to Cadney Park and the Painted Desert Road, we noticed that the sign for the Oodnadatta said the track was open, go figure. So we aired back down and took the Painted Desert road out to Oodnadatta. We had driven this road in the past, it has some spectacular scenery.

When we arrived at Oodnadatta we enquired at the Pink Roadhouse regarding the status of the road, and they told us the Oodnadatta was open all the way through from Maree to Marla and had been for a few days. We told them about the sign at Marla and they said that the signs are now controlled remotely, and that the sign at Marla had been broken for some time. We continued south and found that the Oodnadatta was fine, no issues. That’s a few years ago now, so I would hope that that sort of issue has been resolved.

So much for the multi million dollar new barge that was going to solve all the problems but did not take into account the mega flooding in the very northern section where at its peak, there was over 20km of the track under at least 1 metre of water.
