Essential Caravans has entered administration, although this time not so dramatically.
Link to ABC News report here.

It is interesting that a Director of Essential Caravans was the broker of the within-administration purchase of Queensland,s Zone RV. Story here. The Titanic deckchairs are certainly being moved around.

The caravan industry is it trouble due to the lack of sales.

I know of one top line manufacturer who is surviving on maintenance work because there production line is running out of orders.

.
It is possible that most of this problem began several years ago at the Time of Covid. People were not able to tour overseas so purchased caravans to tour Australia. It was Bonanza Time for the van makers who invested in their manufacturing capacity and fell over each other building vans.
Move on a bit and Covid was over. People returned to overseas travel and put their vans on the sales lots. Suddenly there were vans available galore and orders for new vans dropped away. The van makers had boosted their capital assets and probably their overdrafts and were experiencing problematic business administration. Their houses of cards were tumbling. Others who were perhaps more prudent were simply experiencing lower sales orders. It was, and is, industry armageddon.

Allen, to add to the Covid problem we have runaway inflation and people don’t have the money in their pockets to pay the asking price.

Remember the recession we had to have.
