Is ULP avaliable here or have they stopped keeping it as the other communities have.If avaliable,do you have to pre-book it or just
rock up(so to speak and hope).
Would really love to do the
Gary Junction rd and looking at how much fuel the petrols would need to carry. Thanks All

I was looking at doing a similar trip and was advised that
Kunawarritji will supply ULP but you have to order it at least two weeks in advance. Now I am going to buy a diesel with LR tanks to do a few trips out in to the remote country.

Gday Willem, saw the article in 4WD mag and thought it looked like a good track on our way up through the Kimberly next year.We had planned to go up the Tanami but seeing as we done that last year we were looking at a differant track, now the problem is will the ULP vehicles make it fuel wise.
Have you decided what vehicle your getting yet?

Nick,
I rocked up unannounced to
Kunawarritji last year and had no problems getting ULP. Though from what Willem says that may have changed. Give them a ring would be the best bet.
Cheers
Eq.

I can personally confirm and assure you that you only need to
rock up. They sell everything and its a wonderful community (you'd be surprised how much fuel they REALLY have). I was speaking to them just last week too, and last year was treated to a tour and spent quite some time with the managers (they advertise on ExplorOz and they are interested in us doing a website for the community so I have been discussing their
services and what they want to advise to the public etc).

ULP is freely available ($1.96/L) at
Kunawarritji (
Well 33) from Kath and Karl. Very nice people. East of here there is no ULP at
Kiwirrkurra or
Kintore. So its a long hike to
Yuendumu or
Glen Helen if you need a sniff.
