The rear ExplorOz number plate has fallen off the vehicle somewhere between Coral Bay and Mt Augustus 2 days ago. The Mt Augustus Caravan Park and Ranger have been advised and since I've just checked that it will cost $154.60 to get a new one we'd really like someone to hand it in to us please if you find it.

Hi Michelle

When you get your new one, use pop rivettes instead of screws to attach them, this is a hint to stop them falling off, and all bad people have screwdrivers but no drills to take out the pop rivettes (hint from Britz campers)

Michelle,

I don't know if you have already done this. If you take your one remaining licence plate and put it on the rear (assuming it was the rear that fell off) the Police are less likely to stop you. They tell you to do this in Qld when you are having a lost/damaged plate replaced.

We have now applied to have the plates replaced and paid the fees and waited in the endless queue to get this sorted. All we have to do now is wait 5 weeks to get the replacements and fit some normal plates in the mean time. Bugger what a pain it is to lose a plate. I know what will happen now is that the missing plate will be found/handed in.
