Hi,
Does anyone know if it is possible to have a bike rack (with 3 bikes on it) and trailer hooked up at the same time.

Jeepy,
Why not put them out of the way, on the roof? I've found some excellent roof racks at www.roofracks.com and it makes life much easier if you're not cluttering up the rear doors. It's an Australian manufacturer of Rola-style sports roof racks called Rak. They have telescoping crossbars and changeable ends so you don't end up with racks that won't fit when you change vehicles. They have bike fittings that go in sliding tracks and they guarantee each rack will carry 100kg. They sell them direct and offer your money back if you don't like them. They reckon they sell direct because retailers don't want to handle racks that have the built-in obsolescence of racks that are made to fit a particular vehicle.

Oops.... my last sentence should have read "...that DON'T have the built-in obsolescence....
Most sports-style racks get cut to length for your vehicle. Buy a bigger vehicle and you've got some real cheap racks for sale.

A lot would depend on the length of your A frame, if its too short you may not be able to do tight turns etc...

I have a 4 x bike rack which I bought at Rebel Sports Bankstown about 2 years ago. The trailer design does come in to play as previoiusly mentioned but in most situations it is fine.
