Anyone else finding this place almost times out?

It has taken me 10 mins (Broadband) to open the site, and then wait for the page to open to login, then another few mins to open this new thread..

I have another window trying to open to see what Willem has said.. Its now timed out!

No problems here. About 20 seconds or so when it's really SLOWWWW (early evening usually) but generally no problem. That's with a sluggish broadband connection (256 dl).

Its 4.12am..........went to bed too early and now I am wide awake...what better things to do than EO at this time of day LOL

It took 24 seconds to get this window to open for a reply. I am on dial-up, to a carrier in Orroroo, 35km away then via two jam tins to an ISP in Balaklava and on through an Australia wide number in Port Augusta.

Yeah I'm finding it slow most of the time, I'm using iinet, Perth, as my dialup ISP, haven't made the jump tp broadband yet.

Just back now and it appears to be cranking at the moment - I will investigate the ligs and see what has been happening. I know Michelke raised an issue with the ISP the other day - I will see what the gives!.

BTW: I am thinking of removing some of the past forum data from the online search function. will most likely keep the last 12 months in the online search and rely on the archives and google search for access to the older information as per the forum archives section. This will reduce the size of the active forum database and will make everything faster.

When you notice a performance issue can you try opening a non forum page to see if the result is the same and also take a note of the number of current users and let me know. it is almost impossible to find issues when I have no idea what time or when it occured.

Welcome back David. We're on 1500 broadband and the forum seems to have been very sluggish - to the extent that it has timed out on my 1.25Ghz laptop on a number of ocassions. Hopefully you can ascertain what the problem is and fix it.

P.S. Just come back from a meeting (2nd) and have some very promising news.
