DX patrol GU cab chassis and stone chips

Hi,
I've noticed that the GU patrol DX cab chassis I've bought has numerous stone chips in the sill and lower door. I'm going to fit side steps which will stop the stone chips on the door and front of tray but what about the sills, are the mud flaps to short in the DX's, is that this problem?
