I'm seriously thinking of fitting an additional electric fuel pump on my GQ TD 42, back near the
tank.
(Probably a "Facet" electric pump- puts out 4-7 psi and approx 130 litres an hour- less than $100)
Why?
Because it would be so much easier to bleed the fuel system any time I change a filter or accidently run it low on fuel- (not that I have a habit of doing that.) Also easy to pump some fuel out of my
tank any time I need to eg: if a mate is low on fuel.
I also have had an aftermarket (Frantz) filter on the fuel line and I suspect I'm putting more strain on the factory pump (suction) anyway.
Does anybody have experience in fitting an additional pump on a diesel?
Is there any reason I should NOT do this? Thanks in advance, Cheers.

I had one on my gq 4.2 tdt , It was starving of fuel around 2800 rpm very noticable when i had the turbo fitted. It Fixed my problem, motor pulled with out a problem right through the rpm range.
