Hi All

Just resigned from my current job and have three weeks before starting the next one, so I want to head north and I am looking for suggestions for the route.

Some things to remember for your suggestions:

I will be on my own, don't want to go to the flinders, want to try and get some hint of warmth but can't be bothered to go all the way up to the top end and don't really want to do hardcore 4wheel driving

Thoughts at the moment are:

Adelaide to Maree and then up the oodnadatta track to Dalhousie Springs, then over to Kings Canyon, then through the Macdonnell Ranges to Alice and then back down to Stuart to Adelaide.

Thanks in Advance

That sounds like a great trip adelaideaff. We only went up to the alice in april and it was beautiful. Kings Canyon was probably the highlight of the trip. We travelled in a conventional 2wd (ford falcon) which was fine as most of the roads are sealed, but having a 4by you can go a few more places. Like you can go through Finke, take the dirt road to alice from kings canyon, which saves a a fair few kilometers. If you have time you could go home via birdsville.
Well have a great trip, all the wild flowers are out at the moment.
