Has anyone have advice on tyre choice for Subaru Forester type/brand etc - 15" wheels standard size is 205/70 although may prefer 195/75 which have less side 'bulge'

Colin : your car has a tyre
plaque on it somewhere on pillar of drivers door or in glove box... read it ! It states minimum tyre standards for your car ! You are suggesting a tyre which is 'higher' and will not handle the same as the correct size... Best advice is to ask an Independant dealer for his/her advice on best tyre to suit your needs...there is no 'one' answer to your question.. Tyrepower stores are independantly owned and I have found them to be very good, the best tyre is usually a tad more expensive than the cheapies but watch that
plaque!

Steve - thanks - I am aware of tyre size requirements etc. Mind you the Dealers would go broke if they stuck to the 'book' sizes. There is a large number of 4WD's with non standard tyres and wheels!

Colin. My dear old mum was having heaps of flat tyres on her forester, with the standard tyres. We put bridgestone 693s on it and she never had another flat. We live in northern NSW and spend half our lives on gravel roads. I'm pretty sure they were the same size, and were definitely the same speed rating (s).
