Serviced the Patrol today, noticed the plastic coolant overflow reservior has a hole about the size of a 20 cent piece in the top of it,can anyone advise me if you can buy this reservior as a non genuine item from a supplier in Australia,I am going to ring my local Nissan dealer tomorrow for a price, I bet it cost a arm and leg.
Any info greatly appreciated.
Regards Peter.

THey are around $100.00, that was a while ago when I priced one ...

Havent found anything aftermarket that is same size and shape, and dont try wreckers, as they are like rockinghorse shiat... 20+ GQ at local wreckers, not 1 coolant, or windscreen bottle.

I had te same problem. I carefully created a siicon film over the hole to save myself the $100 for the new bottle.. Then added more silicon to make it a nice thick coating once it was dired,, now its better than the original plastic :-)

Yes, fix it yourself. As long as the hole is in the top its not pressurised and at worst only splashes out. A neat patch of gaffa tape will do the job also.
My Q is - what the hell caused the hole ??

A.
Depending on how the bonnet sits, and where it's parked, sometimes the sun can get in (at an angle.)
The sun will kill them in no time. (UV)

This is what has happened to mine. The plastic has become very brittle. Mine still works so havnt done anything about it yet.

Yea, Mine is also gone very brittle,, thats why it has a new coating of silicon (what a wonderfull product) to plug 1 large hole and some cracks that were starting to appear :-)

Mine was brittle as well. I must have been lucky . . . wasn't even looking and picked on up at the wreckers for like twenty bucks. Nice shiny one too! :-P

SupaMav,
I'll trade you my silicon enhanced one for your 'soon to go brittle' one to save you any problems you may have in the future :-)
