Jules,
I think Mrs Al is one of those who has gone over to the Recreation site on Yahoo as their preferred forum/chat room. This is most unfortunate and I, for one, am certainly hoping that Lyn and the many others who made this site the attractive place it once was, will soon return here.

Hi Jules and Roachie

We have not gone from here - see - hear I am but I know you want Maaaaaaaaa and not me - hahahaha. Exploroz is our preferred Forum but for crap and banter and chat we are using the Yahoo site. I agree with David and Michelle that this forum is not really designed for 'chat' type stuff but it is the worlds best forum and we will post here when we have forum type questions. If David and Michelle change something and want us to chat more here, then we will come back and chat here but I cannot see how they will be able to make it pay for itself.

Morning guys,

I for one have not made comment on the debacle that developed over the last few weeks regarding posts about nothing.

However, I want to make one point. I joined this site to swap information regarding 4wd's and accessories and can understand David and Michelle's position when it comes to long, tedious repetitive posts which display great anomosity between members due to an argument.

Whilst I understand that we all have differing levels of experience in the field, we all have to realise that everyone has freedom of expression and are entitled to their opinions.

We all have to remember that running a business is what keeps the money coming in for the owners to pay for their own expenses ie. food etc. The site is called exploroz, not ozieshavingagoodwhingebitch. The site has been put in place to assist new comers to the 4wd scene. Can you imagine logging onto this site as a newcomer looking for a 4wd and some new friends, and reading some of the nonsensical rubbish on some previous posts? You would quicky develop an opinion on what 4wd owners are really like, although it may be a minority opinion.

Further, having new comers on the site and telling them to search instead of giving them a hand is just plain lazy. Give them an answer and suggest that next time the search function is quite handy for simple questions.

I think we need to all have a good look at what good we have reaped from this site, understand the financial and commercial position of the owners, and realise that in comparison to what's going on around the world in other countries, the developments and unsettled feelings posted on this site in the last few weeks are a non-issue.

I think that this site is fantastic, informative and reliable. I look forward to getting back to chatting about nissas, toyotas, mitsubishi's and accessories. Here's to a fresh start!

Cheers

Chris.

Roachie, Nooooooooooooooooooo, I've not left here, this is still the best site for information on traversing this fantastic country in our 4bs...but as Andrew says for talking crap, the yahoo site is a great place to be, I think most of us who find ourselves in the chat room have EO open in another window so we can keep an eye on what's happening. I've got a couple of big assignments to complete for my Uni course this semester so I'm trying very hard to concentrate on those through the day as well as keeping an eye on here...we are planning on putting a drawer system in the cruiser, purchasing some fridges and set up the CT, so I've also been searching the Archives for info....and planning the trip for next year....I"m about Roachie don't fear..there's no need for therapy yet...ahahahaha :)

cheers

hi Chris

I'm going to agree wholeheartedly with your views on others suggesting to newies to "search" the archives when dare I say it, a stock standard question arises and I'll acknowledge that this function is fantastic and I've made great use of it, however some times just a little courtsey from someone who knows the answer to a question is a hell of lot more encouraging than "search" the archives. What makes this site fantastic apart from the info, are the people, I feel very fortunate to have met so many fabulous people and to be able to make use of the combined knowledge of everyone.

cheers

G'day Lyn,
Good to see you back, although I know you've been here all along, just a little quieter than usual. Hope your studying is going well.
Have you camped in the new trailer yet (in the backyard, or even inside the shed?)
It looks far too clean; time to get out and get dirty....(the trailer too!!! LOLOL)

Yes all the crappers are conspicuous by their absence from the forum. I have had a look at the BigKidz site but its not for me. Maybe I am getting on and should leave the nonsense to Big Kidz.

The forum is a lot quieter but at last we can get back to informative questions and answers with the odd bit of banter in between. I for one am happy about that. (Sorry crapper friends....hahahahaha)
