When I was at Adels Grove a few weeks ago I got to talking to the mechanic who is located on site and he told me about a 100 series that he had had in the garage (tin shed) the day before which had lost all gear selection because the pin had dropped out of the selector. Evidently he managed to retrieve the pin using a magnet and was amazed that the pin had sufferred no damage and he basically put it back in and the Toyo was off and away again.
Dont know the details of what he had to do but obviously the same cause as you referred to

Which "pin" came adrift? The only one I can think of is the pivot pin for the gear change lever. Is this the offending pin?
Must check
mine - and ball pein the ends over!

Dont know which pin came out but picked up the car tonite $927..05 so it must have been a biggun. They modified pin (loctite ?) and refitted.
hope someone out there can shed a bit more light on the problem.
