Got 'em.

Had 'em for 2 years.

Not as tough or well built as the big brand names.

But fine for me. I do half my km's on rough outback roads etc - they have had plenty of chances to distintergrate & they still are tight & look OK.

At less than half the price of a big brand name drawer system, its hard to go past them.

Then last year I bought the fridge slide. Not as pretty, but slimline & works fine.

Hi Thomo,
We LOVE ours. See the Accessories Topic Search in the left margin of the site and then from that page go to the article on Storage Solutions for more info....

The drawers are designed to fit most makes/models - ie. you get a set to suit your model vehicle. The quality of materials and robustness is why they are so popular and we can't fault them having done all our trips. Of course, you're going to think this is cash for comment as sure, 4WD Interior Accessories is an advertiser but we only install gear we genuinely like.

Some nice features are: lockable, slide well, strong, easy to use.

A few considerations are the height of the fridge when mounted on top of the drawers (as is an issue we me at 5'2"). I have to kneel up on the back tray door to get into the fridge, but this is not necessary if you're a little taller or vehicle isn't as lifted as ours. The other issue associated with this is that the fridge (we use an Engel) lid cannot be lifted all the way up unless the fridge is rolled out on a roller).

The main thing in advantage of them is the best use of space for your vehicle model. They've worked on this and there is tons of good usage storage space right up to over and around wheel arches. In our car, because we have tray tilt up doors (a GXL Cruiser) a nice security feature is that all stuff in the drawers is hidden. We recently had our rear window smashed in an effort to remove our fridge which is in view. The fridge was immovalbe, so it was a wasted effort, but they could easily have taken all the recovery gear out of the roller drawers but it seems they didn't know they were there. The roller drawers form what appears to be a false floor and with the lift up door as we have, they didn't even think to load down the bottom half of the rear doors so missed the fact that the drawers even existed.

Anyway, for the sake of being criticised for cash for comment, I wont say much more. We llike them and will continue to have them in our vehicle as the work. Simple as that. Hope you find this useful?

The question was about roller drawers from 4WD Systems. I am assuming that is the Adelaide-based 4WD Systems.

Your answer relates to 4WD Interior Accessories.

Same company or confusion?

Made my own for the Prado for the same reason..price..Made out of what I had in shed, sheet of 5 ply (old desk top) piece of 20mm MDF, Aluminium angle, heaps of counter sunk bolts with nyloc nuts and some creative joinery, glue and tech screws.

Used ribbed rubber matting for the top as it is easier to clean all the sand and snot out later (just brush or vacuum). Used unbacked marine carpet for the drawer fronts, etc.

Started with kitchen drawer rollers, now have bearing roller runners ($30 a pair rated at 40kg). Took a couple of weekends, but does the job. Couple of sliding door lock bolts and we're in business

Now have a Waeco fridge slide bolted to one side (couldn't be bothered with making it part of the top).

Has been in for 2 years over some oridinary WA and NT roads and is still in one piece carrying Tirfors, winch ropes, chains, etc.

If I could work out how to attach pictures I'd do that.
