I was just wondering if anyway knew whether you can drive from McKinlay to Julia Creek via the road that heads North East out of McKinlay, past Eulolo Station and Toorak Sheep Field Research Station before joining the Kynuna/Julia Creek Road?

Cheers

HI Glenn

Yes, but you have to backtrack 21km to get to Julia Creek. S

Hi Willem,

Thanks for that. I had noted that track, but the one I was after knowledge on is the one that heads in a ESE direction from McKinlay.

Hope the new toys are going well.

Cheers

I know the track that Willem's talking about & I see the one you mean on my maps. It's not a private road & would be maintained by the local council. Can't see what's any different from the other tracks in the district - I'd say yes, but always wise to check with the locals before you head out.
Worst that can happen is that you turn around.
good luck.

Cheers Cocka, will certainly be asking the locals before I take the road, and as we will be in no rush, having to turn around is no problem.

Thanks again

FWIW the McKinlay to JC rd via Gilliat is usually pretty good because it's less travelled than the Kynuna JC rd. It follows the ridges alongside the McKinlay river. There are a couple of gates though, but probably less than you will get before you get to Toorak the other way. Unless you have a particular reason for going via Toorak, I'd go the other way. My old man runs Matilda Expo in Kynuna.

Hi Billy, thanks for the info. What is your old man's name as we will certainly be visiting the Expo and the Blue Heeler in Kynuna.

Cheers.

PS: Any EO discounts at the Expo? hahahahahaha
