" I do'nt think so -
I think you'll find that your looking at the video being played in reverse, from the time that it stops, stalls or sinks .....

I wasnt there, but a friend was in the car at the time.

Was at Tobacco Flat, in the Vic high country, video is only afew of numourous floats down the river.

The car was a GM evaluation vehicle which was being crushed on the Monday, [imported tax free for this purpose, must be destroyed when complete] and it was returned to GM with water still in the centre console and glove box on the Monday morning ;-)

Good fun eh !

Two points
1. They forgot to turn on the windscreen wipers.
2. Looks like one bloke in the front had a bottle of champagne in his hand.

As long as the car floats higher than the airbox intake inside the wing who cares. The Safari video is a hoot.
Snorkels are great and if one was made for the Frontera I would fit it. No one makes one so I make do with a blind. The deepest water I have been through with the blind is 700mm and there was a just splash of water in the airbox when checked after. If the Frontera was diesel I would be worried. Petrol I would not unless the airbox was really flooded.
By the way no one will ever convince me that a snorkel gives cleaner air when the intake faces forward. In dust conditions following another vehicle the intake facing forward has to suck in more dust. My brother-in-law has a snorkel on his diesel Rodeo and it faces backwards. That is the way it was designed. Now that makes sense.

I agree with the dust and forward facing air ram. But that's the beauty about the safari, no more than 5 seconds and a flat head screw driver and it's facing backwards. Forward facing it great for around town and cruising on the highway, but when I'm charging mud pits and in convoy on dusty roads, it goes around the other way.

Now, if he had been kitted up for touring, with another couple of ton's of gear on board, he would have stayed on the bottom and driven out the other side.

It's an argument for carrying old heavy gear instead of all that new fangled light weight gear they keep trying to sell us.

Duncs.

I do agree with you. Your suspension works better too with more weight in the car.

Another thing people forget is the spare wheel which is often stored under the rear of the car acts as boyancy when submerged..

sorry but it looked to me like the snorkel went under water for a second or 2 . Now we all know that there is no way a diesel would have still run after that , I agree with the video is in reverse

Don't know about the video being reverse.
His reverse lights looked like they came on
when he reversed out of the creek.

This video is not reversed. Driver of the vehicle is actually looking back while reversing out.
