Hi forum Gurus,
What is the best method to store a spare set of tyres on rims.
I was given a set of tyres and rims, so have decided to use these on the road and store my BFG,s for treks etc and refit them when the other tyres wear down
Thanks
Will

I do the same Truckster.
Do I leave them at road PSI or drop down or inflate higher ?

I just clean em and throw them in the shed, then check pressures when I put them back on.

Tyres of today store well, keep them out of direct sun, is about it, and dont armor all the sidewalls, as this actually cases the rubber to dry out, and perish.

T-man,
For what it's worth I assume that all the tyres are stored rim side down and not on the tread of the tyre along sid each other. Correct?
Keep the shiny side up

Hi Will
I reckon buy another 4wd of your choice and store them on it, easier than changing wheels over when you go away. LOL. Cheers Peter

Thanks for the replies.
Having two 4wd,s would be a solution, I hate changing over the tyres.
Out of the sunlight around the back of the house is the way to go.
Thanks
Will

Glenno,

Now you're just being silly.

Will, I'm happy to take care of your tyres.

Please make sure that they're attached to your fourby, and deliver it to my place.

Don't make it too early though. My wife will get the dirts.

Chaba.

you can jus t put them in the shed as they are .
but if you are storing them for long periods i would surgest you drop the tyre presher down to about 20 psi .
