The 50 amp plug needs a 16mm crimping tool. Not sure what size the big one needs. Cheers Craig.............

Great system the Andersons - such a sensible and simple design - I just soldered my terminals onto the cable - just warm them up over a gas flame, run some solder into them and then feed the pre-soldered wire into the hot terminals - blow em cool - its all over....slot them into the plastic receiver until they click home on
the springs....if you need to get them out again, just depress
the springs with a
small screw driver and wriggle the terminals back out.

Banjo is right, solder them in. But remove the terminals from the plastic housing first is what he is saying, plenty of flux & solder, once they have cooled they just press back into the housing & make sure the + and - terminals are in the correct sides.
Important to remember that the + terminal is live and not totally concealed so be careful that nothing gets to touch it and shorts out.

Anyone know if I can purchase an "Anderson" type socket that can be recessed into bumper bar (as can six pin sockets)?

if your in qld near gympie or
dalby .
drop into L.C. 4X4 and i will crimp them for you for free..
as the tool cost to much if you are only using it once or twice ....
some times i crimp then solder . depends on what it is used for....
