Have been talking to one of our clients at work this week, who owns a pair of Nissan dealerships. He was saying that the first thing the Renault boss did after they bought Nissan out was to say that there will be no more importing Navara ST-R's into Australia.
The response by the Nissan boys was 'Its our biggest seller!', to which the Renault boss said something to the extent of 'go jump in the lake, or do what I say'.
So there it is folks, no more Navara ST-R models coming to Australia. Why? Who knows. Lumpy (the dealership owner) thinks it is just a new boss flexing his new found muscle. I am wondering if Renault intends to rebadge a few Nissan models and try and make an entry into the Australian market. Time will tell I guess.

Does that mean that Renault has taken over Nissan? Hope not as here in the UK we have had Renaults around for years and they are crap. They are always way down any league tables for reliability; their build quality is poor. The cars themselves are good to drive but just do not expect to keep it more than 3 years. Just look at the new patrol, fantastic reliability record until Renault put an engine in it and that reputation has been trashed. Hopefully Nissan will still have a big say in the business or just watch their reliability record go down
hill.

Renault have been incharge of nissan for years. At least since the 3.0 GU came out, yrs back. you mate is beating his slug.
The STR has been out since
well after they took over, so... you work it out.
Go for drive to Dandenong, look at the Nissan site, which has had the Renault
sign out the front for over 18-24mths since I worked next door.
YMMV.
