New Patrol - approach 37deg; departure 31; ramp over 27; clearence 225.
LC100 - approach 34deg; departure 26; ramp over 25; clearence 210.
These are both stock figures (not gx or standard)
New Patrol - the last chance truck, before even it goes soft?

We had to exclude the Patrol from our shopping list because the second row of seats only has a lap belt in the middle in lieu of a lap sash belt. There was no head restraint either.
Finally, the
seat folding split was in the middle, rendering it very uncomfortable for anyone sitting there.
I liked the economy of the Patrol TD3.0........
..... but Nissan needs to urgently address the ergonomics, safety and comfort of the second row passenger seating.

Fair point, but Patrol has advantage in active safety, ie with its better angles and clearences you are less likely to be stopped in the middle of nowhere or require risky recovery. Less chance of its front or rear being torn off or held up (esp
creek crossings), or its vital spare tyre being ruined (let alone changing it). IFS damage......
seems to be city vs bush safety.
interested to see if new patrol addresses the
seat issues.

Yes, only real thing that prevented us from buying.
Being tall, I wouldn't have minded some of the driver height clearances that even some of the smaller fourbies have got too.
I'm told that the Jackaroo had the best driver seating for a tall bloke, but thay are too small a truck for what we want.
Travel
well.

Which model 100 series are you referring to? Figures I have are
Standard Wagon: 36deg app, 27deg dep, 29deg ramp over, 230 clearance
RV : same as Wagon
GXL Rigid Axle :34deg app, 25deg dep,29deg ramp over, 210 clearance
GXL TD :31deg app, 26deg dep, 25deg ramp over, 210 clearance
GXV : same as TD
Not really a lot in it, and I know which is more comfortable to drive. No comparison to fit and finish of vehicle. IMHO.

Like I said LC100 - not the standard cruisers - but the big sellers ifs models. I am comparing like with like in model range. figures from toyota website. I disagree - IMO Nissan figures are significantly better.
Toyota Kluger - approach 29; departure 24; ramp 19; 184clearence.
Similar jump between Kluger and LC100, to LC100 and Patrol.
ie LC100 smack in middle with specs (actually closer to kluger in dep angle).
So would you also say there's really not alot in it between LC100 and Kluger??

Then how about you clearly define that you are talking about the
GXL TD, and GXV model for us not so learned. At the end of the day any Patrol or Cruiser will cover 99.5% of Australia anyway as they are. Same as Falcon / Commodore. Both get you to work and back.

I wrote 100, not 105 (like yours). are these still separate models? I also noted not 'standard' models anyway.

I get the picture, But, You can buy GXL with rigid axle, RV with rigid axle, Which are not "standard" or 105 series. Therefore when we narrow it down you are only referring to IFS 100 series, which you cant compare to "like model Nissan" cause GU is not IFS>

Since roughly 99% of ALL Landcruisers are now IFS, and 100% of ALL Patrols are solid axle - I think its fair to compare those categories!

schevenko, I dont know the figures but i think you will find most l/c sold go for comercial / fleet use (mining, hire, government) and they are Standards so I recken your assumption of 99% could be out

All a bit of a yawn really. For a real one ... (all stock figures)
Approach 50deg; departure 34.5; ramp over 28; clearance 215: Gradient 45: Cross fall 40.
Creature comforts do not apply ... but they'll get ya there and back.
Cheers

Lets get serios now - a Defender was used at work out of kalgoorlie and was found sorely lacking as it had niether the body integraty (dented far to easily for cross country work) or the reliability (real pain having to drive them round in 2nd coz youve lost the rest of the gears). The guys in
Perth quite like them for towing caravans out to base camps but when the serious stuff starts the Land Cruiser 78series n/a utes are king and will certainly put its overweight big sister the 100 to shame
