Modern brake fliud is about the same colour as the plastic reservior in the vehicle.
I am always careful with fluids making sure that all are topped up so it was a surprise when her indoors rang from the shops to announce that the clutch was kaput.
When I got there there was no fluid at all in the reservoir. Filled it and we were away again temporarily until I replaced the slave cylinder plunger after honing etc.

This would not have been a problem if I had always removed the cap on the reservior and looked inside each time I checked, but I relied on visual inspection thro the plastic to avoid introducing grit and dust.
Problem is that with the plastic and fluid about the same colour I thought the reservior was full when it was indeed emptying itself very efficiently each depression of the pedal.
From now on I'll lift the lids of both brake and clutch reserviors or find some nice old fashioned green fluid though I am told that it is made clear nowdays so we can see easily when it is dirty.
Play safe out there, lift the caps and look.

Cant say I have ever come across a fluid that is not easily seen thru the
plastic reservoir. You must have a strange one there!

I believe the genuine mitsubishi fluid is a urine yellow colour. Same colour as the resovoir it sits in. Damm hard to see. Not sure who makes their fluid.

Whatever Toyota use is still green.

Cheers,

Glenn.

Hmmmm.

Will have to go and have a look!

With 5,000k service intervals and in such a new vehicle I must admit that i don't actually do those visual checks but i probably should.

Will have a look tomorrow and see what colour the stuff in the Prado is.

Cheers
