Hi,

I'm trying to find out the height of a standard GU cab chassis. I want to lift it but would like to know what I'm starting with. It's nearly 2 years old so is quite sagged. I'm very surprised at the difference between the GU and similar crusiers.

Mine is the coil front with leaf rear, distance from ground to guard or rim to guard or ground to top of cab etc would be great.

take a run to the nissan dealer with a tape measure?
Pretend your upgrading, take one for a test run, and measure everything you want, swap ashtrays while your at it ;)~

That's good advice Truckster.

The standard place to measure height is from bottom of rim to highest point of wheel arch directly above (if that makes sense?).

Mate, some people actually see the height of the entry and exit from their Nissan being easier than the LC being a reason to look at it first. I know Heather did, then there was the tripping comfort factors................

True John, I guess I'm just after a little more clearance under the sills as it's pretty low at the moment. I'm getting closer with my camper, will send you some photos when it's finished. Could be a few more months though.

Austravel, I have a GU ute DX, leaf sprung rear, to fix the sag in mine, I had a set of auxillary coils fitted. Raised rear, softened the ride and cheaper than new spring pack.

Thanks John, not a bad idea. I thought of the air bags but will also look into the coils. I'm getting a camper built to sit on the tray so will wait until all the heavy items are on the vehicle and then decide which way to go.
