can anyone tell me which surf turbo manifolds if any bolt straight to the 3L hilux cylinder head? It appears that there is at least 3 stud patterns for the exhaust manifolds on 2L/3L motors? early 2L has 8 studs diagonal all sloping same way, 3L has studs sloping same way but they dont line up to the early 2L at all, 2LT surf has 2 ports sloping one way other 2 sloping in opposite direction but I think 1 end lines up to 3L. But I still havent found one that lines up to the 3L fully? Any suggestions? cheers guys, fisho

You could probably answer my question. Looking at buying a 1985 Forerunner with a 2L motor in it, a turbo diesel edition. Is that the 2.4 with a 5 speed box?
Sorry to answer your question with a question...

chris, yeah the 2L is the 2.4, and also the very early hilux 2L was a 2.2 i think but yours would be 2.4 if original. could be auto possibly? you can check by starting the engine and pulling the gear change back rapidly. If it makes a very loud noise, lurches and stops, it used to be a 5 speed!
just kidding !! easier just to count the pedals.
Is it an import or Aus model? I dont know if the aus came out with turbo as std?

Thanks mate, not sure, the dude said it was a 204 turbo or something which may indicate aftermarket, even so, if it's a 2.4 with 5 speed box, the 2LT will go in very nicely!
Thanks for your help mate!

I was not aware of an Oz 2.4L Factory Turbo either? 2L Oz or 2LTE out of the surf.
