I went back to my local computer man last week and asked him to apply himself a bit more diligenlty. Being a nice bloke, he complied. He found the fault in FILE TYPE in MY DOCUMENTS. The file type URL: Hyper Text Transfer Protocol was not set as a DEFAULT.
I went away happy but when I returned this week from the bush to go on the internet the same problem came up. This evening I have reset the default and it is working again.
Many thanks to all who contributed to the thread and for the variety of advice given.
It all helps to get a better understanding of this plurry pewter!!!!!!
