Gidday,Coming back along the Plenty Hwy(plenty of nothing) on a trip with the club and come across a car with 2 flat tyres. They had to
camp on the side off the road that night as no one would stop to help them. They were med students and had no idea at all about travelling outback. When we arrived we had to jack it up and remove repair and refit.Repair the spare which had bubbles poking out the side walls. They had no idea how to change the spare and inflate all the tyres to the correct pressure.
I won the repair kit at the 4wd club meeting.I have used it once on my Cruiser and a couple of other times. They are a good investment and are only a emergency fix.You have to get the pluged tyre repaired properly ASAP.

Even though it is only a plug repair, SafeTseal reckon it is a permanent repair. Don't know on the legalities but STS reckon the seal will outlast the tyre.

Agree with Utemad,
Had to plug 2 tyres on atrip back in 2002. They sre still in there and there are no signs of problems. It may be illegal in some states if not all but They have my confidence from past expierences. Besides, has anyone out there ever seen a cop checking tyres for plugs? its hard enough finding it after you insert it.... and you know its in there somewhere.
Just my opinion
cheers Angelo

Gidday Utemad,Here in QLD it is illegal to continue to use the plugs which must be replaced asap. The tyre has to be removed from the rim and a pull thru plug (from the inside)is to be used. The pull thru plug has a large patch attached to so that it covers an area of approx 50 to 75mm on the inside of the tyre.A lot of plugs have worked their way out of the tyre and have deflated extremely fast.

Rob,
Have had this product & it is great. I have used it on 3 occassions whilst in Kimberley/
Pilbara region. Easy to use & I wouldn't be without it. On one occasion I used 3 threads to fill a hole (of necessity) but it was successful & ran the tyre for a long time until updated.

Thanks for all the replies, I know someone who traveled the gibb and had puncture problems, had to use the kit three times on the same hole as it got bigger or something like that. Thanks again for your replies .I myself will get one. I think they retail for around $110
Thanks again Rob

Hi,
Same happened to me 150k off the GRR on the
Hann river, our only puncture of the entire 8oookm trip - mostly dirt, (with a rock so sharp you could shave hair off your arm with the edge).
Problem was that when it pierced the tyre it caused a "star" split in the rubber. Needed three plugs but fixed it
well enough till I got to
Kununurra.
One other vehicle had 11 punctures on the GRR!!!
Would recommend the kit as very cheap insurance....also saves hard work!!

Get one, cheap insurance, once you've got one you'll never need it.

Did the
Madigan Line this year. All punctures (about 12 between 6 vehicles) were plugged - no need to jack up any vehicles or remove/repair tyres - only way to go!

Got mines 2 years ago and used it twice. They are brilliant. No need to take off tyre.
Recommend as compulsory equipment in recovery box.

i have a kit forsale at less than wholesale price .
i have used it once but with the law now i can't use it .
as i am a business that repairs tyres + etc . .. . .. . .
so if you need a kit i would sell it to you at a good price .
as my insurance won't cover me if i use this product.
as a repair kit to get you out of trouble when 4wdriving it is a good kit .
