Just a quick question - does anyone know if Nissan and Toyota wheels are interchangeable? I'm talking about 6 stud 16" wheels - not 100 series. Is the off-set very different? Thanks.

Some years ago I put some 6 stud 16" Toyota Hi-Lux wheels on a Nissan King Cab, had to put them inside out though, because the depth of the rim is not the same.

A few years ago I seem to remember that one set was interchangeable but you couldnt go the other way with them. The reason for this is that nissan ( i think) had a small section of the rim protruding inwards and therefore would not fit the toyota but toyo would fit nissan. might be the other way around. best idea is to try them. the white spoke wheels are interchangeable i believe.

Bob, you are quite right.
and BTW Patrol wheels don't fit on Navara's, even though the rims look the same, (6jj vs 6j). I found this first hand in the border between NT & QLD a few years ago, just west of
Boulia.

I believe "jj" denotes Heavy Duty Off Road Use. for the rim.

Sorry, that should be the other way around.
I am not sure of that Peter, but I do know 6jj rims have a larger hub centre and will fit on Navara hubs, but Navara rims will not fit on Patrols.
From what I understand Land Cruiser and Patrol rims are interchangeable, I used to own a MQ with chrome, split Land Cruiser rims on it for a couple of year 'til I sold it.

They certainly are interchangeable, l have GU patrol rims on my 80 series cruiser, my mate has a GU and we always go away together so we make sure we have the exact same brand and size tyre just in case sh*t hits the fan we always will have more than one spare. And there is the old Toyota v Nissan arguement, he cannot blame the tyres when l'm pulling him out ha ha ha. Hope this helps,

They are not ALL interchangeable! The earlier LC & luxes had more offset to the
outside than most of the other brands which achieved more like centrepoint steering.
The stud patterns were all the same until Tojo went 5 stud on LC!
Need to
check that brakes etc do not foul if going Nissan etc with a LC.
Putting LC wheels on the others may give you too much offset & wheels sticking outside the guards. Flares may fix most but be careful with insurance.

The LC rims also have six small (lips) in the wheel centre making the centre hole smaller ,the rim will not fit a Patrol although the Patrol rim will fit a LC. The white rims will fit both ways but not the toyota rims.

Hi All
I agree with the designation of the J or JJ but what does the value in front of this mean ie the 6 or the 6 1/2.
Thanks (Trying to find this out for a couple of weeks now)
