What's the best brand for the Rear Storage Draws? I am looking at getting a new vehicle (Probably a Patrol Wagon) and want to get rear storage draws when I purchase it. I have a Waeco FF90 (if bloody Waeco ever fix it!) and I was wondering if a fridge slide will hold that much weight. I was thinking of having the 2 draws and a fridge side on the RH side. Can you have a full cargo barrier with storage draws or is a half cargo barrier the way to go? I was thinking half a storage system would probably do me with the fridge slide but think the jump up from the floor would be a pain.

Make your own.

Check the archives and there will be heaps of URL's for plans and images on homemade ones.

Cost of making your own $400-600
Cost of buying $1000-$2800

Or if your like me and don't have the time these days, and can't more money by doing your own work and paying someone else, check out outback, blackwidow and there's another brand which evades me at present. I'm in the market for one as well and probably will get an outback just due to the sheer aftermarket service. My mate has one who had a small prob with a latch. He called, they came and conquered within 10 days. Pretty good.

Go to ARB, or TJM, get a price and if you are in brisbane, I might be able to help you out with a better price. Plenty of people on the forum can help you out!

Cheers mate,

Chris.

Check out the Black Widdow, cost a bit but worth it for a new vehicle. Go the half barrier.

The fridge in the back take up mobs of room and sit really high, you have to use the rear step to get a look in (be careful with muddy boots).

Black Widow is good, with a half height barrier (thay make and certify their own). Make sure you have enough clearance to open your fridge while on the slider. They don't slide all the way out and therefore the fridge lid catches the top of the door opening. Other than that a top product, well worth it for a long term investment. When you trade up to next model vehicle you can get a kit so your drawers can be transferred to the newie.

Black Widow in my view are the best looking / finished unit on the market.
Has a better locking system than Outback, easier to clean carpet covering and no annoying 25mm gap at the top of the drawers (supposed to be so you don't catch your fingers) and as said you can transfer them from model to model with a new side kit.

Justin,
I too suggest Black Widow, yes they're a bit ecky but one of the few that does a half draw so I can still use one side of the the third row seats in the 100 series.
This gives me six seats, top quality draws and a fridge slide. A 40l Engel fits well and have had the draws for about five years and two 100 series.
Cheers

For my Patrol I got a 3 drawer version of the unit at http://www.offroadsystems.com.au/options.html#Single

I am very impressed with the use of space given the odd shape they have to deal with. The space left of the fridge has room for me slide in a coleman fold up table/chair set.

They can also put in a half cargo barrier and a water tank underneath that.

The only problem with fixed drawer systems of this height (aprt from the $$$) is that it leaves little space for bulky packages.
