well we are at stage 2 & have established that cylinder # 1 has no compression at all ,now they have to strip it down to find out why & then will let us know if they will pay up or not.
keeping everything crossed that they do or it could be a long fight

Bruce,
Have you contacted Nissan over on the "dark side" yet? It may be worth while you know, might shorten the fight a bit. Have your engine and vin number ready if you do call them, plus make sure you have that info on any correspondance you have. Also you need to get a record of the hours spent removing and stripping the engine if you're ending up with the bill you could be amazed how long this task can take. Get a ball park figure up front, also when the engine is stripped where to from here? I'm sure with the K's you've done you've got a good argument surely, you don't have anything 'silly" on the engine do you?

Gday Bruce,

With some big companies you might be surprised if you use the right approach as I'm sure you're doing. Despite some of the negative comments on this forum I've found Nissan Australia OK to deal with, saying that it's all been social chit chat so far I haven't had a gripe with them, may be a different story if things go bad. I'll have to wait & see, hopefully not.............

Bruce,
Hang in there!
It took me 7 weeks to get my engine replaced, which was well out of warranty.
4 Weeks was while the dealer stuffed around sending the report to Nissan.
Nissan gave approval within a week, then again the dealer dragged his feet.
I even rang Nissan public relations and complained about the delay by the dealer.
Nissan must have kicked their arse,as 1 week from the complaint the truck was ready.
No cost at all, including a new battery.
I have just returned from towing my 18 ft van around WA from Victoria and the truck went like a rocket.
Regards
