Hello all , been a while between posts , glad to report that the cruiser is alive and well. I have set some dates for the High country
Dates are Friday 1st October 2nd and 3rd

There has been a change in plan as to were we are camping. Original plan was to camp off road , but exelent snow conditions are making me change my mind , it could be to dangerous to head in late ,to were i wanted to camp . The venue for camping is now Paradise Valley , will set up camp Friday nigh , Saturday will be a all day off road trip . Then a Sunday morning group breakfast before leaving .

Please let me know if you are interested , I will be cutting off numbers due to the difficulty of the tracks . For those who wanted to fish , the river does run through Paradise Valley and yes you can get vans in there .

After your replys here , please also add your names to the database on Off road madness

For people looking at maps or searching elctronically ... it's Burgoyne's Track & Burgoyne's Gap Track on the other side of the Licola Road.
Last time I was there, Burgoyne's Gap Track to the MacAlister Gorge was pretty gnarly.

Regularly run trips out of the club property up around Burgoynes, will ask tonight if anyone has been up recently.

I was up there recently .... Burgoynes Gap track was a bit ugly going to MacAlister Gorge, but all the other tracks I mentioned were quite good & relatively easy!

Eric,

I am very interested and would love to come. Regarding your comment "I will be cutting off numbers due to the difficulty of the tracks", does this refer to the ability of vehicles or just the pure numbers? I've had a 45mm lift fitted to the Terracan and am pretty game, but I don't want to wreck the car.

I'll be advised by you, if you reckon I can participate, count me in.

As for Robe, I am definately in, just let me know when you are leaving so I can travel over with you.

The problem I have is , I dont know what the tracks will be like , there has been alot of rain snow ect, it may have washed away soil and exposed rock , it may be dificult to climp some of the hills due to how steep they are. In in the high country ,some climbs seem to never end . Or it may have dried out and be easy . I dont want to make the call, maby someone here has been up there recently and can update us on the track conditions .

Every time I go up there , the track conditions are diffrent , I dont want to miss lead you in any way . I guess you may just have to come and look .

Not a bad run if you go up Burgoynes Track to Mount Margaret Track & then go through to the Chromite Mine, pretty good camp sites on the streams at the Chromite Mine too! Then you can keep going & come out on the B1 Track above Licola.

Too true Truckster, I think when I was there, it looked like a lot of vehicles had come down the hill & chopped it up pretty badly. Was mainly on one section though, rest was pretty good.
