Forumites,
For those who have petrol engines, I've just put a set of these NGK Iridium 1X spark plugs in my wifes Zook Sierra, what a difference, better starting and appears to be perfoming 100% better, very impressed with the outcome. Not the cheapest plugs in the shop at $20 each but NGK say they last four times as long plus you get better performance and fuel economy, that's got to be worth while. No I don't work for NGK or am I getting any financial gain out of this. The old Rangie might have to wait a bit, eight plugs starts to get pricey.

Hmmm ... I was thinking about a new set of plugs for the Jack today. And you're the 3rd person I have heard rave about these Iridium plugs.

How often did you change the zook's plugs previously?

Also, can you let me know if you see an improvement in economy.

I'm getting too scared to look at the numbers rolling away at the bowser these days.

The Explorer takes Iridium plugs, 100,000Ks they are supposed to last and i can tell you they do just clocked 100,000 and just changed the plugs what a difference like driving a new car it was pinging from about 96,000 and could not find out why well after changing the plugs no more pinging, i can highly recomend these plugs. Fuel economy has improved alot too.

Baz.

Savvas,
I changed the plugs at the same time I change the oil every 10K, the cost of the plugs is relatively cheap (ish) I've been using the Bosh plugs but they keep on breaking down, I've given the standard NGK's a run these seem to survive better but the Iridium plugs have been in a week and I recieved a box of chokkys from my wife to thank me for the improvement, believe me they're good.

G'day Martyn,
put one in my DRZ400, much better starting, can't say I've notice any diff in fuel economy but that really doesn't matter on a dirt bike.

giddyup .. yeah i have had a set in the Jack for about 22k now and love them, definite improvement over the standard platinums and should last as long (100k)

Get em from Bursons when you are getting other service items as well and ask nicely if they can look after you a bit, they have a bit of room to move on em. ( mine cost me about $11 each for 6 trade price)

Savvass - go for it champ, just be prepared for a bit of extension bar juggling to get number 3 out easily !!

I use the 4 pronged Bosch. Just put the second set in after nearly 100,000ks, not that there was anything wrong with em. But with the new set I've noticed a bit more zing.
