We are doing the trip from
Karumba via Koowanyama/Pormpuraaw in mid Sept. Any
views on where to stay and the road conditions is appreciated. We have 4 cars/campers and plenty of kids. Happy to hear of past travels. The roads look ok from the maps ?

The biggest hassel is crossing the Mitchel and Edward River, you will need permits and a local guide to get through Edward River. There is a
camping spot at Edward River but once again seek local advise. From there out to Musgrave is all on property roads and usually ok.
