Hi folks,
My 100 series TD has developed a bit of a 'clunk' when the brakes are released from a stop. Mostly from the rear end, thought it might be a sticking pad or similar. About 27,000 ks on the vehicle, so it shouldn't be worn out yet!
Anybody had any similar experience with their Toyo? It doesn't worry me too much, but if I'd paid for a Lexus or a Sahara, I reckon I'd be pi$$ed off!
Regards to all,
Vic

If I paid what your 100 cost I would be pi$$ed off..
if I paid any %age of the exhorbant prices they ask these days for a new car and after 27,000klms there were clunks I would be screaming.
Take it back. It has warranty.

Check that they have greased the drive train correctly, my surf clucks when going from reverse to drive when the grease is a little low in the rear uni joint. On the surf there are 3 grease nipples per uni joint, easy to miss one!

vic
possibly sticking pad or maybe broken clip on pad(if they have em on back)
had similar problem in 98 model last yr and it turned out o be brake master which i got replaced under warranty(parts only) which saved me about $2800
my clunk was more when almost stopped and would not relaes properly when trying to move again
could be something like that-not sure what yr yours is but there has been some issues with brake master cylinders
take it back to dealer and get them to sus it out or call em and they may already know of problem
good luck
