G,Day all, the GQ & GU chassis are basiclly the same can I adapt a rear torsion bar release system to my GU I realize the lever in the cab will take some nutting out but looks like a better option than going to manual release At present Ive a 60mm lift and the tosion bar at full extension hits the diff and pulls the hangers back at a 45 deg angle. cheers

Swaybars you mean? The swaybar quick release from a GQ Ti or such you mean? the handbrake type lever next to the steering column.??
yea you could if you could honestly be bothered.
look at www.bigballsoffroad.com at swaybar quick release systems..
Swaybars also work better hanging from the shed wall. Throw them if articulation is what your after.
YMMV

Truckster is right,
My GQ broke the release mechanism effectively leaving eh sway bar disconnected.
Never looked back.
There was slightly more body roll if pushed hard but it had to be pushed hard. I bought an Impreza for going that kind of sports.

Duncs, you're right......(ie: when you say Truckster is right... LOL)
I have a set of Snake Racing quick disconnects on the front of my GU. Cost me about $140- from memory and I'd be willing to sell them for $100-. They are quick to disconnect alright, but a PITA to re-connect. Like the Truck-man said, the shed wall is the best place for sway bars. I've pharted around with em for years, on/off/on/off.....really make very little difference once you've got heavier springs than the factory-fairy ones.

Roachie, they are now $198!!! sell for $150 and get money back, and enough change for a 6 pack!
I agree with little difference with or without swaybars, due to your driving a 3 ton truck with $hit COG once lifted to sky and 400ton on the roof, not an F50 Ferrari - drive accordingly...
